Moroccan Conservatives Hates Elton John

Recently, Elton John conducted his concert in Morocco. However, his concert was followed by a controversy. The conservatives of Morocco demand for not allowing Elton John to perform at the Mawazine Festival in Rabat on May 26, 2010 because of the performer’s gender preference, for being gay. But the conservatives’ call was disregarded by tens of thousands of Moroccans who came to witness Elton John’s performance.

Personally speaking, I don't think that is a very nice way to welcome a star like Elton John.

Does Crystal Bowersox Stand A Chance for American Idol Season 9?

Over the years, “American Idol” has become more and more male-dominated production. Way back to Season 6, Jordin Sparks victoriously won over Blake Lewis, and on Season 3 it was Fantasia Barrino. And now, this is the second year in a row when there only one girl made the top five. This is a very interesting development considering that the two most flourishing “Idol” winners ever are female namely Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. The question is, why aren’t the girls prevailing on this show anymore? When will a girl win the title of an “Idol” again? Does Crystal even stand a chance for this season? Let’s find out on the American Idol Season 9 Finale.

Happy 21st Birthday To Me

"Life is a tragedy for those who feel, and a comedy for those who think."

It’s my Birthday! Thank God that He gave me another year to live and continuously giving me chance to take part in the game called life. Now that I am 21, what should I do first? Hmmm (think..think..think) Well, I’d better plan things in order for me to have a good path in life.

In spite of the lost that our family have been through, I realize that life must go on. Also, my grandpa will surely be sad if he sees me not celebrating my 21st birthday. Tatay Pat, thank you for all the love. I will miss you and you will always be remembered by us, your family and friends. Happy Birthday to me, and to you Tatay Pat, happy trip to your new life with the God Almighty.

My Grandfather Died the Day Before My Birthday

Another leaf has fallen from the tree of life. As the tree gets older, its bountiful leaves that are responsible for making the tree to survive sprouts and do its part, then afterwards, fall when it has done its contribution.

My beloved Grandfather, Patricio Laurel, died later this morning, Tuesday, May 18, 2010. He died at exactly 4:15 A.M. He suffered for a very long time. Our Tatay Pat died the day before my birthday. I don’t know how I am supposed to feel that it is actually my birthday after hearing the news.

Before he died, I still manage to take care of him for a very short period of time. I spent almost 16 years of my life with my Grandfather. My Grandfather is only a human who commits mistake. He is not perfect but he turns out to be a good Grandfather to me. In spite of the mistakes he did in the past, which we are very aware of, we still care for him, especially me. After I heard the news, it was a mixed emotion that filled my chest. Happy that he is finally with the lord, sorrow for the lost, regret that I didn’t have the chance to say “Tay, I love you po,” and confusion because I want to be there on his wake but I am miles away from our home due to my work.

Tatay, wherever you are, I want you to know how much I love you. We will miss you so much. I hope, wherever you are right now, you are happy and you can see us. Please guide us. We love you so much, Tatay Pat.
